CFA Scholarship Information
The CFA Society of Milwaukee in conjunction with the CFA Institute will be offering ten scholarships for the June 2007 CFA exam. The CFA Institute’s mission is to serve its member and investors as a global leader in educating and examining investment managers and analysts and sustaining high standards of professional conduct. As part of the CFA Institute’s mission, each year the CFA Institute administers the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam. The CFA exam is a comprehensive, three-part exam that encompasses the core skills used by investment professionals.
The exam tests the Candidate’s Body of Knowledge which is focused in four major topic areas; ethical and professional standards, tools and inputs for investment valuation and management, asset valuation, and portfolio management and performance presentation. The exam serves as an excellent way for graduating students to continue their education and advancement in the investment profession.
These scholarships are intended for, but not limited to, graduating students in the greater Milwaukee area. We will be waiving all but $150 of the registration and enrollment fees and the scholarships apply to all levels of the exam program. Normal registration and enrollment fees are $760. Please note that books and study materials are not included in the $150 fee. The scholarships are offered in order to achieve our goal of raising the awareness of the CFA program and the CFA Society of Milwaukee and to attract talented professionals to our industry.
The deadline for submitting applications to the contact person listed below is December 15th, 2006 and a brief letter of endorsement is required from a faculty sponsor if a college student or from an employer. I suggest candidates with questions regarding the program and the exam refer to CFA Institute’s website http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/. This site has a more comprehensive description of the benefits of the CFA program as well as more logistical information.
For those interested in the exam, candidates can register early with the CFA Institute to take advantage of the reduced registration fee. At the conclusion of the scholarship competition, refunds for applicable fees in excess of the $150 minimum fee will be granted by the CFA Institute.
